Tony Dixon

EMEA Financial Crimes Compliance and MLRO, BNY

Tony has 15 years of compliance and financial crimes compliance experience across roles in the public and private sectors. He is currently the Head of EMEA Financial Crimes Compliance & MLRO for the UK Bank and London Branch of the US Bank at BNY. He is responsible for all aspects of the EMEA Financial Crimes Compliance Framework and the Global Anti-Tax Evasion Programme. Tony is active in the industry, including as a member of the UK Finance Economic Crime Committee, which has responsibility for strategy, policy, and advocacy across economic crime and is a former member of the JMLSG editorial panel representing the Association of Foreign Banks (AFB). 

In his prior role as Deputy Head of EMEA Financial Crimes Compliance and Deputy MLRO, Tony was responsible for the EMEA AML / CTF Policy framework, EMEA AML / CTF regulatory change, and EMEA AML / CTF Advisory. His previous experience includes acting as a Compliance Officer and MLRO for BNY’s Dubai Branch with compliance oversight of the Middle East & Africa region, overseeing regional anti-bribery & corruption and data protection programmes, and working at the UK’s data protection regulator.  

Tony has a Bachelor’s Degree in History & Politics from the University of Nottingham, a Graduate Diploma in Law from BPP Law School, a Master’s in Law (LLM) from Northumbria University, and a Diploma in Financial Crimes Compliance.
