Jonathan joined Citibank in 2019, based in London, where he has global second-line oversight responsibility for sanctions compliance across Investment Banking, Corporate Banking, and Commercial Banking businesses.  Previously, Jonathan was Citi’s Chief Sanctions Officer for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, where he monitored sanctions developments and implemented new sanctions regulations across 55 countries within the region.  Prior to joining Citi, Jonathan led the sanctions services portfolio within EY’s Financial Services Advisory practice in the U.S., and held several positions with the U.S. Government, including senior sanctions policy roles within the U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Terrorism & Financial Intelligence as well as roles within the U.S. State Department and in the U.S. Senate.
