Jim Nelson is Head of Quality & Standards in Natwest’s first line Financial Crime Hub, where he leads a team of over 500 financial crime professionals engaged in assurance and oversight activity across the Natwest Group. Jim began his career in forensic accounting in the mid-1990’s, qualifying with KPMG in London before moving to its Greater China practice. Jim left KPMG in 2004, moving to Credit Suisse in Hong Kong as deputy MLRO for Asia Pacific. Jim returned to London in 2005, and since then has held financial crime roles at Bank of America, BNP Paribas – where he was UK MLRO – Standard Chartered and ABN Amro, before joining Natwest in March 2022.
