While banks have historically focused their surveillance firepower on e-comms, priorities are finally shifting towards voice. Although sometimes dismissed as too complex and expensive to monitor at scale, “voice is where you’re going to pick up poor behaviour,” the head of EMEA surveillance at a European bank stresses. “People are wise now to what they put on messaging systems. But with voice, they may say things in the heat of the moment.”
